21st Annual Emerald Ball

Sep 11, 2020

7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

For 20 years we all have come together to raise funds for the Pluta Cancer patients and recognize our extraordinary Pluta Team.  It still does not seem possible that we will not be gathering in September at Oak Hill for the 2020 Emerald Ball. We will miss greeting you with a glass of champagne and coming together to raise funds essential for the ongoing services offered within the Pluta Integrative Oncology and Wellness Center and the Patient Financial Needs fund.  None of this would be possible without events like the Emerald Ball, which this year was slated to net $235,000.  We will also miss the opportunity to see and honor the incredible team of compassionate medical professionals.  We know the Pluta Cancer Center team will miss the opportunity to see all of you.

Our community and the Pluta Cancer Center have seen many changes over the last few months.  Our brand new Integrative Oncology & Wellness Center had to temporarily close its physical doors, but when one door closes many virtual doors open.  As you walk through the doors of the Pluta Cancer Center the waiting room is empty, due to a no a visitor policy in place, but the Foundation has provided iPads to enable patients to connect to their caregivers during their treatment.  All staff are wearing masks, but these masks don’t hide their smiles as they continue to provide excellent care for our patients in treatment.  Heroes are emerging every day.  Cancer does not stop for COVID and neither does the Pluta Team!

For these reasons and many more, we are dedicating the 2020 Emerald Ball to the Patients and Staff of the Pluta Cancer Center.

  • We honor our patients for their strength and courage who are now faced with not one enemy but possibly two.
  • We are grateful for the commitment of our staff to maintain the “Pluta Culture” in the face of this pandemic.
  • We are thankful for our donors and volunteers donors who continue to support the patients and staff.

We need your support now, more than ever. If you circumstance permit please consider a donation in the amount you typically spend at this special event.

Even with so much uncertainty and unpredictability today, there’s one thing I am certain of, our Pluta family is strong.  Until we are able to be together again, let’s take care of ourselves and each other.
